Accessibility statement

The Magistrat der Stadt Reinheim endeavours to make its website www.zukunftspark-reinheim.de accessible in accordance with § 14 of the Hessian Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (HessBGG) in conjunction with the Hessian Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BITV HE 2019). The aim is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

Status of compliance with the requirements

Because of the exceptions listed below, this website is partially compliant with the requirements. This assessment is based on a self-evaluation carried out while the website was being built. A conclusive external audit under BITV HE 2019 has not yet taken place.

Measures taken to support accessibility

Accessibility was taken into account from the outset when this website was implemented. The measures put in place include:

  • a semantic page structure with a clear heading hierarchy and marked-up page regions (navigation, main content, footer),
  • a skip link allowing the main content to be reached directly,
  • keyboard operability of the interactive elements – navigation, sector carousel, dialogue windows and contact form – with visible focus indicators,
  • alternative texts for informative images; purely decorative graphics are marked up as such,
  • labelled form fields with required entries identified and automatic completion (autocomplete) of common details,
  • a text alternative in the form of an expandable transcript of the welcome video; the aerial video is a video without sound and is identified as such,
  • respect for the “reduce motion” system setting (prefers-reduced-motion): animations, transitions and automatic scrolling are reduced or disabled in that case,
  • a responsive layout that allows text to be enlarged and the site to be used on different devices.

Content and functions that are not accessible

The content listed below is not, or not fully, accessible for the reasons given in each case:

  • Interactive binding land-use plan (map service): the plan is provided in a new window through an external third-party map service (KC-Systemhaus, Bürgerportal Hessen). We have no influence over its accessibility; full operability by keyboard and screen reader cannot be guaranteed there.
  • Welcome video: the video currently has no synchronised captions. As an equivalent alternative, the spoken content is available in full as an expandable transcript.

We are working to remedy the limitations named above step by step.
